PORTUGAL — Portugal remains on high alert as severe weather continues to cause flooding and landslide risks across several regions.
The Mondego River has reached a critical level in Coimbra, raising concerns about possible flooding in low-lying areas. Authorities are closely monitoring water levels as rain persists.
In the Lisbon district, 75 people have been displaced in Alenquer due to the risk of a landslide caused by unstable ground following days of heavy rain.
Portugal’s Civil Protection remains on high alert and is urging residents to avoid riverbanks, follow official instructions, and stay informed as conditions may change rapidly.
Further rainfall is forecast, and authorities warn that flood and landslide risks could increase in the coming days.
