AIMA Warns Immigrants to Update Address and Provide NISS
Lisbon, Portugal — The Portuguese immigration agency AIMA has issued a new alert for immigrants living in Portugal. Authorities are asking foreign residents to update their home address and make sure their NISS (Social Security Number) is correctly registered in the system.
AIMA says missing or incorrect information can cause delays in residence permit renewals and other immigration processes. Many applications have been slowed down because addresses or NISS details were not updated.
Immigrants should:
-
Update their current address
-
Ensure their NISS is correctly submitted
-
Check that all personal data is accurate
These updates can usually be done online or through AIMA services. Officials advise migrants not to wait, as correct information helps speed up applications and avoid problems.
